Here’s the annual mix CD I make for people. It’s my favorite songs from the year that was, and what’s nice about this year is Spotify lets me link to the playlist for everyone to listen to. Technology!

4. Alexander, “Truth” — Used masterfully to kick off a masterful season of Breaking Bad.
5. Cults, “Abducted” — My wife and I danced to a Cults song at a bar this year. That was strange, and nice.
6. The War on Drugs, “Come to the City”
7. My Morning Jacket, “Circuital” — Sundtrack to my brother’s bachelor party.
8. Bodies of Water, “Open Rhythms”
9. Tyler the Creator, “Yonkers” — Odd Future on Jimmy Fallon was the best.
10. Youth Lagoon, “Posters” — Last time I was with my friend Brian he was hanging around with his iPhone like a boombox, playing Youth Lagoon.
